Stay for the Waves.Come Back for the Feeling.

We deliver a structured, personalized surf-learning experience that blends digital preparation, expert coaching, and ocean training, empowering every surfer to build lasting skills and achieve measurable progress.

Three ways to stay

A coached week, a week on a single fin, or a stay you build yourself.

Every one of them is the same house, the same bay and the same coaches. What changes is how much of the week is decided before you arrive.

The communal area is perfect for chilling out after a day in the water… and the best thing is its proximity to the beach means you can be in the water within 1/2 minutes.

What's my surf level

Four levels, one honest sentence each. Read them and stop at yours.

Feeling in between two of them is normal — most people are. Pick the closer one when you book; the groups are drawn up on Sunday night from what the coaches see in the water, not from what you ticked, and the coaching is one-to-one from there whatever the level.

  1. Level 01 · First wavesI have never surfed, or only a few times. What we work on
    • Paddling, and getting out through the whitewater
    • The pop-up, drilled on the sand before it is tried on a wave
    • Stance, and where to look
    • Etiquette and staying safe in a busy line-up
    • First unbroken waves by the end of the week, with a good bank and a bit of luck
    Your week: The Foundation
  2. Level 02 · Green wavesI catch unbroken waves and I'm starting to angle my take-off.What we work on
    • Reading where the wave will peel, and sitting there
    • A take-off that repeats
    • Angling left and right, then trimming along the face
    • Loosening the stance so the board can be steered
    • Choosing a board for the day
Your week: The Foundation, or the Classic Longboard week
  3. Level 03 · Speed and turnsI'm learning to turn and to generate speed. What we work on
    • Speed down the line, from the rail rather than the arms
    • The bottom turn, and the first top turns
    • Positioning for the better waves at the point
    • Duck-diving and getting out on bigger days
    • Equipment for the conditions, from the free quiver
Your week: The Classic Longboard week
  4. Level 04 · ManoeuvresI'm working on cutbacks and top turns. What we work on
    • Cutbacks, and the roundhouse when the wall allows
    • Drive out of the bottom turn
    • Top turns: positioning, rotation, the transition out
    • Floaters and re-entries on the sections that offer them
    • Wave selection on the days the point gets serious
Your week: The Custom Retreat, coached one-to-one

Is this trip for me

An honest list, both ways, and the questions everyone asks.

Come if…

  • You want to get better, not just get wet — a goal for the week, a coach in the water, and the video to prove it.
  • You are travelling on your own. Most of the house is, and the Sunday dinner takes care of the rest.
  • You are a couple or a group at different levels. The level groups mean you surf with your peers and eat with each other.
  • You like a week with a rhythm: early starts, two sessions, yoga, a shared table and an early night.
  • You can swim two hundred metres in open water and stay calm when a wave holds you under for a few seconds.
  • You have work to do in the mornings. The Wi-Fi is fast, the terraces are quiet, and the Custom Retreat was built for exactly this.

Think twice if…

  • You are after a party town. Imsouane is a fishing village with a handful of cafés, and the nights are early because the mornings are.
  • You want a resort. The rooms are simple on purpose; the money goes into the coaching and the food.
  • You are chasing heavy, hollow waves. The bay is a long, slow right and the point is sharper — a progression wave and a longboard wave, not a slab.
  • You would rather free-surf all day with nobody watching. The Custom Retreat can do that; the two coached weeks cannot.
  • You are not a confident swimmer. We cannot take you out, and we would rather say so here than on the beach.

Before you ask

The questions that come up in the week before a booking.

If yours is not here, it is one message away — a person at the house answers every one.

How fit do I need to be?

Surfing is mostly paddling, so a normal, active level of fitness is enough. The yoga each morning is there to keep shoulders and lower backs working through the week. If you can swim comfortably and manage a long walk, you can manage the week.

Can a partner who does not surf come too?

Yes. They stay on the Custom Retreat basis — room, Surf-Fuel breakfasts, yoga, the communal dinners — and can add the dunes, the horses or the souk while you are in the water. Say so when you book and we will put the two stays together.

Is there an age limit?

The coached weeks are for adults. Teenagers are welcome with a parent on the Custom Retreat, with private coaching arranged around them — write to us first so we can plan the sessions.

When is the best time to come?

Autumn through spring brings the most consistent swell, and the bay works at almost any size. Summer is smaller and warmer, which suits first waves. Whatever the month, the coaches choose between the two waves each morning, so there is nearly always something to surf.

Do I need my own board or wetsuit?

No. The quiver is on free rental for every package — shortboards, twin fins and classic logs — and there are wetsuits in the house. Bring your own board if you love it; a board bag is worth the fee for a week on a wave like this.

What is not included?

Flights, travel insurance and airport transfers. We arrange transfers from Agadir, Essaouira and Marrakech at cost — say your flight times when you book and a driver meets you.
