The rooftop terrace at dawn: two people on yoga mats facing the bay, low cushioned benches and a mosaic tea table, with the village rooftops and the ocean beyond.

The rooftop

Two floors above the bay, where most of the week actually happens.

The roof looks straight over the village to the point. It is the yoga deck at seven, the shade at two, and the place everyone ends up after dinner — mats rolled back, cushions pulled round, the swell forecast open on somebody's phone.

Yoga at first light

Mats go down facing the water before the wind gets up. Dynamic in the morning, restorative once the boards are rinsed.

Video review after dinner

The screen comes out on the low benches and the day gets replayed — the take-off you rushed, the line you should have taken.

The long evenings

Mint tea on the mosaic table, the port lights coming on below, and the argument about whether tomorrow is a dawn patrol.

A bright white studio room: bed set beside a floor-to-ceiling window onto the sea, cream curtains drawn back, and a kitchenette with a gas hob along the near wall.

The rooms

Sea-facing studios, kept simple on purpose.

White walls, a big window and very little else. You are out of the room from seven until dark, so it is built for the two things that actually matter after a week of surfing: blackout sleep and somewhere dry to put a wetsuit.

The window
Floor to ceiling, facing the water. Linen curtains draw across it when the sun comes round.
The beds
Twins that make up as a double. Fresh linen and towels, changed midweek.
The kitchenette
Gas hob, sink and counter, for the coffee you want before anyone else is up.
Underfoot
Wood floors, white walls, and a shower with hot water at six in the morning.

The living space

Room to land, for the stays that run longer than a week.

Each apartment opens into its own living room — sofa, table, kitchen corner — with the bedroom through the arch. It is the part of the house that makes a fortnight work as easily as a weekend, and the reason the Custom Retreat suits people who bring their work with them.

An apartment living room: a grey corner sofa and wooden coffee table, a dining table and chairs, a woven palm pendant lamp, and the bedroom visible through a wide arch.

Somewhere to collapse

A corner sofa and a low table, an arch away from the bed. The obvious place to be while your shoulders remember the morning.

A table you can work at

A proper desk height table and chairs, not a laptop balanced on your knees. The Wi-Fi holds a call.

Your own kitchen corner

Hob, sink and counter for breakfast before dawn patrol, or for the nights you would rather not be sociable.
